7 weeks...

7 weeks from now Nick should be on his way home! It will take a while to get back to Tucson, of course, but at least he will be heading in the right direction! I cannot express how excited I am for that day. I've already been planning what to wear, what to put the kids in, and what dessert should be waiting on the kitchen table when he walks in the door. These are the little things I didn't let myself dream about for the past 5 months. His homecoming was too far off and I didn't want to plan too far ahead. Now, however, I feel as though I can dream again. I can also breathe again. It's almost over!

Once Nick gets home, we will enjoy his 2 weeks of R&R. We might take a short trip to Disneyland and then another one to Colorado to visit family. By the first part of April our house should be on the market. We are praying it sells as quickly as possible, but realize it could take a while. Still, it won't postpone our moving to Colorado. Nick's "terminal leave" (his accrued vacation days leading into his separation from the Air Force) starts on May 1. We'll be in Colorado by then, for sure. I am excited to come back and meet my cousin Angela's sweet new little bundle. Baby Girl Smith is due in April and I am bummed I won't be here for the birth! But at least I will be here after that. To know that I will be living near my family here in Colorado is a good feeling. I am sad to leave my amazing Tucson friends, but I know Colorado is home. It's where my family and I belong. It's where God has called us to be and that's something I can't argue with! :)

So, I am feeling hopeful for our future. We don't know where Nick will be working or when our house will sell, but we are praying and leaving those uncertainties in God's hands. We trust Him to work these things out in His time.
