6 Months and a Backemball

Today my precious little girl is 6 months old! In many ways it seems like the time has flown by and yet, in many others, it seems like forever ago since her birth day. The early months are always a blur. Between late-night feedings and unpredictable changes in schedule, time is intangible. While Rowan has been growing and thriving (thank God!), I have been doing my best just to remember what day it is. But I wouldn't have it any other way. My babies are my life.

Before taking her 6-month picture, she simply had to have a bath:

We dressed her up in a purple Janie and Jack ensemble with fish emoroidery:

She loves her feet...

...and I love her sweet face!

That brings me to my other little darling: Mr. Hudson. I know I've mentioned how he loves basketball, but do you understand how much? It is literally all he talks about! He wakes up in the morning, he goes to bed at night and his first and last word every single day is "backemball." He tells people about backemball at the grocery store, Target, the nursery, the mall, restaurants, and anywhere else he encounters a listening (or even not-listening) ear. Backemball, backemball, backemball! On Mother's Day I asked him who I was, hoping he would finally call me "Mama" to my face. Do you know what he said? "Backemball!" Thanks, sweetie.

You can imagine how much he loves the playoffs right now. We turn on recorded Nuggets games just to calm him down. It's actually quite amazing, if you ask me. But perhaps the most amazing thing is his ability to play basketball.

Hudson catches and throws like a pro; well, at least like a 3-year-old. I don't mean to brag. It's just that he has superb hand-eye coordination. Even his pediatrician was impressed. So, I have no qualms with saying that I have a future NBA star on my hands. ;-)

You know, I guess it's not so bad that he called me a basketball. Basketball is the closest thing to his heart right now. Plus, with a smile like that, how could I be mad?
