The day started out well. Both kids didn't wake up till right before 7. It was nice to "sleep in." I've been sleeping a lot better the past few nights and that has helped me feel much more energized, though I'm still tired. I don't think there will come a day when I don't feel tired. But, I digress.
After we got settled downstairs I heard the garbage truck coming down the street. Hudson has begun to recognize the sound of any type of loud truck. When he hears one he'll almost always yell out, "A cah!" This is, of course, how he refers to a car. Calling it a "cah" makes it sound like he is from Boston! Nick and I love it though. So today, he heard the garbage truck and before he could call it a car I told him, "Hudson, there's a truck coming down the street! Would you like to see it?" He nodded. We pulled up the blinds to look outside and, as soon as he saw it, he exclaimed with delight, "A cruck!" Well, we're making progress!
We had breakfast burritos and fruit for breakfast. Rowan played happily in her bouncy seat while I chatted on the phone with my mom. We watched some of our Disney Channel favorites, including Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Special Agent Oso. Then it was time for rocking and a Baby Einstein DVD. Both kids ended up taking a nap at the same time, which allowed me to change the layout on my blog.
Nick came home for lunch and we talked about the possibility of his getting a new assignment at Davis-Monthan. When he first heard about it yesterday it sounded like he might be able to get out of his deployment if he was the one selected for the new job. Today it did not sound as hopeful. Still, we are praying about the situation. We know God will have Nick where He wants him to be. He's always in control!
yeah for sleep! there will come a day when God will fill you to the brim with energy, but then he'll want you to use that energy, so be ready! (not that you don't alreay use your energy like crazy everyday with two awesome kiddos and a hubby ; ) ).
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet story about Hudson. He sounds like he's going to be talking your ear off before you know it!
ReplyDeleteI'm praying for you guys about Nick's future job situation. Crossing my fingers he does not have to deploy again so soon!
